ISU researchers and students are invited to participate in the Great Plains Network (GPN*) Annual Meeting 2025 on June 2-4, 2025 at the 2nd Floor of the Scheman Building at the ISU Campus (1805 Center Drive, Suite 102, Ames, IA 50011).
The Meeting schedule includes free workshops and multiple opportunities to meet researchers and IT specialists from ISU and other universities. These are some highlights from the program:
Free workshops:
- An Introduction to Nextflow for Building Bioinformatcis Workflows
- The Fundamentals of Setting Up and Populating a Network SoT
- Introduction to Deploying and Scaling Data-Intensive Workloads with Docker and Kubernetes
- Fundamentals of Deep Learning (includes NVIDIA Certification)
- Do It Yourself: Building Software Packages With Spack (recommended for all Nova users)
AI Track:
- Keynote: Translational AI at Iowa State: AI+X research, training, and workforce development (requires conference registration)
- Panel: Free Resources for AI Research and Education (requires conference registration)
- Free workshop: Fundamentals of Deep Learning

GPN is offering complimentary registration to graduate students and reduced $50 registration to undergraduate students that provide full access to the conference. If you're interested, email researchit@iastate.edu for details and offer codes. It is not required to register for the whole meeting to attend FREE workshops, but attendees should check out appropriate workshop tickets.
